Rapper SKG joined West Coast legend Cold 187um on the red carpet for the Detroit premiere of Higher Power, the latest Chicano-driven film directed by Anthony “Cisco” Viramontes. The premiere generated strong buzz, with many calling the movie a standout addition to contemporary Chicano cinema.
The film showcases a powerful ensemble cast, including Cold 187um, Omar Gooding, Mr. Homicide, Pete Vásquez, Angel Salazar, and Panchito Gómez. Drawing talent from iconic projects like Blood In Blood Out, Mi Vida Loca, Scarface, Colors, and *American Me, Higher Power delivers a gripping story rooted in loyalty, adversity, and personal transformation.
SKG (Helecia Choyce) attended the event to support Cold 187um, her former label mate from the Death Row Records era. The two artists walked the red carpet together, celebrating the film’s release and honoring their shared history in West Coast music culture.
