Move over, traditional workouts—there’s a new way to break a sweat, and it’s powered entirely by the music of Taylor Swift. Fans aren’t just singing along in stadiums or at home—they’re doing it mid-lunge, mid-squat, and mid-boat hold. Welcome to Swiftie Liftie, a one-of-a-kind fitness experience where Taylor Swift hits double as your exercise cues.
From Phoenix Studio to Nationwide Phenomenon
In a neon-lit Phoenix studio, thirty-three devoted Swifties move in perfect unison, letting Taylor’s bridges, choruses, and high-energy hooks guide every rep. The combination of thumping bass, bright lights, and familiar lyrics turns each workout into a full-body celebration.
Instructor Alexy Posner brings the energy, singing alongside her students and encouraging them to grab the weights tucked under their benches. “At Groundwrk, the studio can be a dark, moody space, and I’m the pink girl that comes in and says, ‘Let’s play Taylor,’” Posner says. What began as a monthly experiment in February has now grown into the thriving Swiftie Liftie Club.
Monthly Themes and Taylor Hits
Every session has a unique theme that keeps participants excited. From “Merry Spicy Swiftmas” in December to album battles and evolution-of-Taylor specials, Posner ensures every class feels fresh. One unforgettable workout included 10 minutes of hip thrusts to All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) (10 Minute Version)—a moment she recalls as “savage, unhinged, and so much fun.”
Despite the intensity, Posner emphasizes that the heart of the class isn’t just fitness—it’s joy. “I start every session by saying, modify, change, break, do whatever. The only rule? If you know the lyrics, sing the song. That’s it,” she explains. For her, the goal is smiles, laughter, and a shared sense of fun that lifts spirits as much as it lifts muscles.
More Than a Workout: A Community
Swiftie Liftie has grown far beyond a typical fitness class—it’s a social hub where friendships are formed and fans connect over their love for Taylor’s music. The rapid demand, with five-minute sellouts and waitlists almost as long as the class itself, made Posner realize the concept couldn’t remain confined to Phoenix.
“We’re going on the road,” she shares. “New York, L.A., and beyond. I’ve partnered with amazing brands, and studios everywhere can host Swiftie Liftie classes—I’ll travel to help make it happen.”
Nationwide Expansion
The official national rollout is set for February, featuring stops in major cities and outdoor events accommodating up to 150 participants. The movement goes beyond exercise, creating a safe space for fans to feel seen, heard, and connected. “People have come up to me saying, ‘You introduced me to my best friends,’” Posner says. “Thanks to Taylor, we have a space to feel all our emotions while working out. It’s incredible.”
With its unique blend of pop culture, music, and fitness, Taylor Swift-inspired fitness class goes nationwide: sing while you squat is turning workouts into a joyful celebration and connecting Swifties in a way that’s fun, inclusive, and unforgettable.
