Country music star Zach Bryan is making headlines after announcing he won’t be returning to Kansas City — all because of a heated online clash with Kansas City Chiefs fans.

The Feud Begins

On Friday (Aug. 8), the 29-year-old singer — and proud Philadelphia Eagles supporter — took to X (formerly Twitter) to poke fun at Chiefs fans. “Where are all the three-peat people from last year?” he wrote, referring to the Chiefs’ failed attempt at winning three consecutive Super Bowls after their 2025 loss to the Eagles.

The post sparked a flood of backlash from Chiefs fans, many of whom came armed with stats and insults. One user replied, “3 Super Bowl wins in 5 seasons. Eagles have won 2 in their 70-year history. Sit down, Eagles fan from Oklahoma.” Another jabbed, “Just another abusive Eagles fan, nothing to see here.”

Bryan’s Bold Statement

The “I Remember Everything” singer didn’t back down. Instead, he fired off a firm declaration: “Please understand I will never play in Kansas City. I’ll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call if I play at that stadium.”

He was referring to Arrowhead Stadium — the Chiefs’ home turf — a place often in the spotlight thanks to Taylor Swift’s appearances in support of her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Cutting Ties with KC

During the online back-and-forth, one Chiefs fan even suggested Bryan remove “Fifth of May (Live from Kansas City)” from his 2024 live album 24 Live. Bryan’s response was short and sharp: “Done, brother.” However, as of Sunday morning, the track was still available on streaming platforms.

“Bro all u have to do to piss off a Chiefs fan is play a fair game of football,” Bryan added. “Guys, it’s okay to talk trash to each other about football. Y’all are weird as hell.”

A Silver Lining for Local Fans

While Kansas City fans may be disappointed, Bryan hinted at a nearby alternative. On Sunday (Aug. 10), he posted, “I miss you Bonner Springs coming to play next year,” referencing the neighboring city just outside Kansas City.

Not His First Online Controversy

This isn’t the first time Bryan has landed in hot water over his social media posts. In September 2024, he stirred up backlash by posting “eagles > chiefs / Kanye > Taylor,” drawing comparisons between Taylor Swift and Ye (formerly Kanye West).

Following the uproar, Bryan issued an apology on Instagram, explaining, “For the record, guys, I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night. I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong. I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye, and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often. Hope one day I can explain this to her.”
