Gunna has claimed the spotlight once again as Fans Pick Gunna’s ‘The Last Wun’ as This Week’s Top New Release, earning nearly 57% of the total votes in a recent poll. His latest project edged out strong contenders, including MGK’s Lost Americana, Laufey’s Snow White, Jonas Brothers’ Greetings From Your Hometown, and Ethel Cain’s Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You.

The 25-track record serves as the follow-up to 2023’s One of Wun and includes standout singles like Won’t Stop and Him All Along. It also boasts an impressive lineup of collaborations featuring Offset, Wizkid, Asake, Burna Boy, and Nechie.

The album’s title has stirred speculation among fans that this could be Gunna’s final release under YSL Records/300 Entertainment. His ties with the label — founded by Young Thug — have become increasingly complex amid the ongoing and highly publicized YSL RICO trial.

Speaking to Uproxx in June, Gunna shared that his creative process remains fluid and personal:

“It’ll come to me just through life and just living… So for this album in particular, it’s no theme. It’s in current time of what’s happening with me.”

Gunna’s track record on the charts is hard to ignore. His 2022 release DS4EVER debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and every one of his solo albums has landed in the top three overall, also topping the Top Rap Albums chart.

Meanwhile, MGK’s Lost Americana took second place in the poll with 13% of the votes. The project marks the artist’s first foray into Americana after a career spanning hip-hop and pop-punk. The “Other” category claimed third place with close to 9% of the votes.
